Most of my work is under glass (watercolour and pastel). I was discussing this with a gallery owner and their response was that they loved my work but they didn't sell anything framed. By the way: the reason for this is that patrons choosing art often cannot see beyond the framing of the piece that doesn't coordinate with their decor. Packaging is everything. I get it and in some ways agree. This pretty much limited the work shown there to works on canvas and board. It was suggested that I do similar work in acrylic or oils.

The question is pose to you is, "Should an artist change their medium in order to be accepted by a gallery?"
