SEE WITH AN ARTIST'S EYES

I've sometimes read, in art magazines or forums, that an artist should work on a style, get known for it, and never create work that doesn't adhere to the "look" of your work. Personally, I paint different types of work in pastels than I do with watercolour. I like the look of pastels when painting my still life paintings and sometimes my figure work. It reminds me of the old masters. Watercolour, on the other hand, is the medium that I use to paint most of my figure and landscape paintings. This wasn't really a conscious decision, it's just how I envision the subjects I'm working on.

What do you think? Have you found a personal style? Are you even trying to create one?
